Blues and Pinks are always great staple colors to use when picking out nursery decor. But when you start planning or decorating for your new arrival don’t forget about patterns, bold colors, and unconventional prints that could turn any room into an eclectic mind captivating space, take Tyler’s eclectic nursery for example, by J&J Design Group.

If there wasn’t a crib in this room it would look like a chic reading area or living room. We think this is a unique way to approach a nursery. Let’s look at all the ways this space is adorable and fun as well as contemporary and mature. After all, at the end of the day, this is as much a room for the baby as it is for you!

We love how the patterns and color scheme is carried out through various details in this unique baby boy nursery. The gray crib from babyletto’s Hudson collection pairs nicely with the rustic modern wood wallpaper setting the neutral base colors that create a great canvas to add patterns and splash of colors.

Functioning Style – The solid blue chair from Abbyson Living is such a bold piece in the room that really pops while making a great place to cuddle with your little one. For a similar alternative, check out the this navy blue fabric rocking chair. Pairing a jewel-tone color with a patterned ottoman is great for keeping it interesting, but if you also get one that doubles as storage then all of those baby toys won’t be a foot hazard.

The floating Forbena nursery bookshelves are also a great way to incorporate modern pieces for a beautiful way to show off pictures or house their favorite books. The “Read to me” letters add that playful vibe to this room creating a welcoming feel for babies and toddlers.

New Take on Wall Photos – you’ve probably seen the endless patterns you can piece together using square frames, but this room takes it to another level. Pairing various styles, colors, and sizes together really draws the eye into the room and despite all of the differences it works; the yellow background in the Labradoodle Dog Signed Art ties into the yellow of the ottoman. There’s even a 3d striped letter that doesn’t have a frame but doesn’t look out-of-place because it matches the elegant drapes.

This understated design would look good in any home – just start with the neutrals, pick out your favorite ‘pop’ of color, find a contrasting color to that, and then enjoy a room that could easily go from a nursery to a young child’s bedroom.
